Our overarching goals are to reduce stigma, increase the number of individuals seeking help, support individuals who have lost loved ones to suicide and decrease suicides in our County. We have established a dynamic group of professionals and volunteers who are all committed to decreasing suicide rates and stigma through education and public awareness. The Task Force continues to work to minimize the stigma associated with mental illness and emotional distress and make sure resources are readily available and easily accessible to all Bucks County residents. We strive to hold diversity, equity, and inclusion values and practices at the center of our daily work.

A. CLASSIFICATION: Part Time Fee-for-Service, Independent Contractor

B. REPORTS TO: Bucks County Suicide Prevention Taskforce Tri-chairs

C. JOB SUMMARY:

The BCSPT Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all events associated with The Bucks County Suicide Prevention Task Force efforts established by the Tri-Chairs.

D. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Walk Coordination Tasks

  • Coordinate Walk Website
  • Design a flyer to announce each Walk. Flyers will be available online and accessible for each school to revise for individual team promotion.
  • Work with the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc. (BCDAC, Inc.) to manage revenue and expenses for the Bucks County Suicide Prevention Walks: Hold On… You Matter.
  • Develop and manage registration process to include coordination of funding as mentioned in above. This includes all IT setup of webpage and coordination in a format that allows all sending school districts, as well as the public, to register, make fundraising commitments, and payments.
  • Prepare, manage, and oversee the registration process on the day of the Walks.
  • Following approval of the Suicide Prevention Committee Tri-chairs, and in coordination with BCDAC, Inc. Fiscal Department, order Walk accessories and arrange for delivery, set up and removal (memory beads, food, water, etc.).
  • Coordinate Walk meetings with schools and Task Force for each Walk preparation.
  • Coordinate/Oversee the efforts of:

o School outreach

o Sponsorship (Coordinate with Commissioners’ Office and Task Force Tri-chairs)

o Advertising and Marketing (Coordinate with County Public Information, Community Partners and Media Outlets)

o Website (Coordinate with Lenape Valley Foundation)

o School activity tent (Coordinate with school representatives)

o Volunteers for set up, break down and Walk activities

o Close out registration after Walks including totaling all registrants and funds raised from the Walk Coordinator will be responsible to procure sponsors

2. Arrange and coordinate additional fundraising and community prevention events (i.e. identify organizations for events, coordinate with Task Force members to provide resources at events, etc.)

3. Update and maintain all Suicide Prevention social media accounts.

4. Research and provide information about 501c3 to Taskforce co-chairs

5. Attend various meetings as the Suicide Prevention Taskforce representative in an effort to work collaboratively with providers/agencies/community.

6. Work closely with Task Force subcommittees and other community stake- holders to lead events/initiatives established by Taskforce Tri-Chairs.

7. Facilitate all grant application process activities, including but not limited to, receiving of applications, review of applications for completeness, gathering additional information requested by Task Force chairs needed to make a decision, inform grant applicants of approval or denial.

8. Maintain records of approved and denied grant applications.

9. In conjunction with website design vendor, create and develop Hold On You Matter website.

10. Other duties as assigned.
