Position Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Supervisor assists the AR Manager driving the department actions, supports and assists the AR analyst staff in complicated tasks, monitor, and analyze the evolution of process in scope and the achievement of KPIs and support the AR manager in the proposal and execution of actions to improve performance. These individual supports and monitor AR functions performed by GBS and is point of escalation and resolution for customer and internal team queries related with process on scope.
Position will be responsible to:
Support, guidance, training, and monitoring of performance of Accounts receivables analyst in the process of Cash Applications, handling of Original Bill of Lading – OBL, Manual Invoicing and Adjustments/refunds. Advise Analyst on action for research of payments not applied to A/R system, as necessary. Point of escalation for AR analyst for complex cases
Create statistics and reports to track performance of unapplied and unidentified payments. Support AR manager in the implementation of action to meet targets and KPIs established. Advise Analyst on action for research of payments not applied to A/R system, as necessary.
Provide instructions to GBS, propose processes improvements.
Work with internal teams when there are new fees/process changes to ensure manual invoicing and refunds processes are clearly outlined for GBS and customers.
Key user for development and implementation of platforms to automate payment reception, booking, reconciliation and reporting
Cash Management: Assist the AR manager to prepare and distribute the Daily Cash Report. Download/format the online payment reconciliation and send to the GBS daily.
Monitor Cold treatment account and update payments received accordingly, both in accounting system and on internal log. Send payment notification emails
Assist with AP & Corp deposits as well as Daily cash report/notifications when others are out of office.
Support and engage in a team mindset of high performance, participate in permanent improvement actions and support a team culture of innovation.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (BA) in accounting, business, logistics, or similar fields from a four-year college or university. Optional waiver extensive specific experience in related functions
Experience in shipping, Logistics or supply chain
Experience in AR roles: accounting, collections, analysis, audit
Working knowledge of finance systems
Advanced skill with Microsoft Office products and data visualization
Ability to apply critical thinking to complex situations
Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing culturally diverse and remote teams
Basic Knowledge of project management
Accepts responsibility and accountability with focus on results
Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities
Preferred experience developing internal processes and designing process manuals for SSC usage
Experience with ERP/OCEAN/LARA
