The primary focus of the Supply Chain Manager is to Provide leadership to purchasing department to effectively meet customer demand. This leader will manage materials and delivery, maintain proper inventory levels through planning and forecasting, ensure accuracy of inventory, and provide continuous and reliable material supply to production.

Key Duties:

  • Develop and lead a team that can exceed expectations and continuously improve
  • Manage the design and implementation of purchasing processes to ensure effective, smooth operations
  • Manage and maintain inventory controls for all materials, ensuring a level delivery plan that supports production plans while managing inventory level expectations
  • Support sourcing initiatives with Group Sourcing
  • Drive “best practices” that positively influence Sales & Operational Planning and forecast accuracy
  • Develop “best practices” in purchasing, transportation, and inventory management; and lead the development of distribution network optimization strategy
  • Oversee and manage the overall supply chain and logistics strategy in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity to support on time delivery to our customers
  • Drive cost reduction and compliance through inventory optimization
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and cross functional partners
  • Leads cross-functional teams in the implementation of supply chain strategies and process improvement
  • Directs and administers demand forecast planning, master data, inventory management, logistics and purchasing
  • Manage procurement activities and workload, providing training and direction to team members
  • Lead and support implementation of process improvements including movement of materials and processes to give visibility of the total supply chain
  • Ensure effective communication around materials risk to support production plans
  • Ensure appropriate level of contact with suppliers, resolving supply abnormalities with minimum disruption to production
  • Work with quality departments to improve delinquent suppliers
  • On request actively participate and secure relevant information for regulatory documentation and requirements including CAPA

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, inventory management or related discipline is preferred

  • Strong MRP knowledge required (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred)
  • Ability to implement and lead projects across multiple groups
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Team player
  • 5+ years of work experience in inventory management, logistics, and/or supply chain management in manufacturing environment; automotive industry experience preferred
  • Previous leadership role managing others
