- Provide support for the data storage systems.
- Engineer and implement networked file systems such as NFS and CIFS.
- Allocate storage to Linux servers.
- Design, plan and implement storage strategies.
- Provide storage planning, data management, and disaster recovery planning best practices and test accordingly.
- Provide backup, recovery and archiving of data.
- Perform and enable controls to ensure the virtual infrastructure security posture is in compliance with DISA STIGs and regulations.
- Set up and monitor performance and capacity monitoring capability.
- Document incidents according to policy, and publish Knowledge Base articles when applicable.
- Maintain existing and when required create new SOPs in support of this objective.
- Provide system and engineering support for documented and approved projects and tasks.
- Ensure all engineered solutions are in compliance with DISA STIGs, DoD and policies and standards.
- Ensure engineered solutions are designed to maintain highest practical availability and service dependability.
- Maintain existing and, as required, develop new documentation that will include but is not limited to SOPs and System Architecture Guides and Diagrams adhering to organizational templates, policies, and standards.
- Perform root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents, engineer permanent solutions, and coordinate implementation.
- Support the program manager and EA during requirement analysis to develop technical solution options.
- Provide management proposed configurations, optimizations, and system improvement plans.
- Work with the program manager to establish and meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Ensure all solutions meet documented customer requirements and are within project scope.
- Follow all Change Management and Engineering Review processes.
- Ensure changes are completed according to the project schedule.
- Work as part of a project team to engineer, administer and develop migration plans for existing services ensuring minimal service interruption.
- Engineer and design hardware solutions as required to ensure capacity and availability of all services.
- Engineer, install, configure, optimize, support and design solutions that incorporate DoD security requirements such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Host Based Security System (HBSS).
- Shall develop task lists, assist the program manager with project documentation, maintain project status in the automated project tracking system, and ensure milestones are identified and met.
- Meet established service level metrics.
- Identify, analyze, and effect resolution of hardware, software, and network problems.
- Support the following:
o Virtualization platforms, such as: Installation, Configuration and Administration of VMware, V-Motion, Storage V-Motion and Network/Storage IO Control, Port groups, VLAN networking and NIC teaming on VMware, Creation, Management and Configuration of Virtual Machines, Clone and Templates, Snapshot manager and restoring of snapshots, etc.
o Directory Services: Red Hat Identity Access Management (IDM)
o Linux Server OS
o Solaris 10 OS
Position Qualifications:
Education:
- BS/BA Degree may be substituted with additional 5 years related experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology industry including experience with RHEL operating systems
- Experience with RedHat Satellite, RedHat Identity Access Management (IDM), Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform
- Experience administering RHEL systems in a mixed RHEL/Windows environment.
- Experience with the following OS; Solaris 8, Solaris 10, Red Hat 7.9, 8.6, 8.7 and higher
- Experience with License Servers, GitLab, PCB DR and Apache
Certifications:
- Must possess one of the required baseline certificates under the DoD 8570.01M – Information Assurance Technology Level II:
o CCNA Security
o CySA+
o GICSP
o GSEC
o Security+ CE
o CND
o SSCP
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
