Noah Medical Research & Innovation (R&I) is looking for a System Integration Engineer to join a small and agile team of ambitious engineers solving some of the hardest challenges in medical technology today to enable the next generation of robotically assisted medical interventions.
The engineer will be working closely with the HW and SW design teams and will be responsible for the system integration, bring up and the characterization of various robotic units. A successful candidate would provide early design input from the robotics point of view, quickly prove out new designs, and find practical solutions to benchmark the electromechanical properties of such systems.
We are looking for a candidate who enjoys and thrives working in a small start-up team on exciting engineering projects, and is ambitious, self-motivated, curious and passionate about revolutionizing the world of medical robotics.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the system integration plan and the integration activities.
- Perform debugging and root cause analysis for complex SW and HW integration problems.
- System testing, data collection, parsing, and analysis for complex robotic systems.
- Drive system characterization discussions to provide design input to HW and SW teams.
- Understand controls and robotics algorithm implementations.
- Design test fixtures and characterization setups that would highlight the system performance.
- Understand and develop risk assessments for medical robotics.
Requirements:
- M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related Engineering specialty or any similar fields with an emphasis on Dynamic Systems and Control
- Thorough theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in robot manipulator kinematics, dynamics, feedback control, sensors, actuators, and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with position, velocity, torque, and current control.
- Expert in the characterization of the electromechanical system properties such as, friction, backlash, compliance, torque production etc.
- Be comfortable in bringing new ideas to the team.
- Work collaboratively and efficiently in a fast-paced start-up with minimal supervision and
- guidance.
- Ability to work independently, and the determination to get through challenging problems.
- Experience with rapid prototyping algorithms in C++ and/or Python and CAD software (Solidworks or similar).
Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location. Noah Medical reserves the right to modify this range as needed. Please note that the aforementioned range is only one component of the position's total compensation package. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonuses, stock and employee benefits including but not limited to PTO, paid holidays, health insurance, dental & vision insurance, life & disability insurance and a 401k plan.
