The Selected candidate will perform system integration, management and security support for multiple systems operating within the NASA John Glenn Research Center. This will include day-to-day operational support of Systems, Components and Software and the implementation and compliance of all applicable security policies. Duties include:

  • A solid understanding of implementing hardware infrastructure that includes servers, workstations, networking, and storage components. Experience in building and maintaining information systems for specific customer needs.
  • Strong System Administration skills on Windows systems, Servers, Active Directory, and Group Policy deployment. (minimum of 5 years’ experience).
  • Experience working with General Dynamics TACLANEs and vIPers.
  • Experience working within the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Good functional knowledge of network hardware, firewalls, server, and systems, with the ability to troubleshoot encountered issues.
  • Strong communication, written and verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Experience applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to deployed hardware and software.
  • Experience navigating through Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs) to remedy system vulnerabilities via patching, policy changes, and updates in accordance with the RMF.
  • Strong teamwork qualities with the ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with peers, customers, and management.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; a combination of experience, training, or certification may be substituted.
  • Active Secret government security clearance within the last 5 years, with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance in the future.
  • Possess or acquire an IAT Level II certification: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GESC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP.
  • Experience with SharePoint Administration and Development, Powershell, SQL 2019, and Video Conferencing is desired.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintain network systems to ensure network and resource availability.
  • Perform the daily operational support of systems to include hardware, software, security, configuration, backups and restores.
  • Build, install, configure, and maintain various organization-supported hardware and software products.
  • Maintain current licensing, software updates, security patches, and all applicable government security policy and controls supporting the organization systems.
  • Adjust security parameters and settings when POAMs result in findings.
  • Provide monitoring of supported software systems and respond to service calls to troubleshoot, assess, and mitigate interruptions to system operations.
  • Maintain systems, inventory controls and documentation for Workstations, Servers, and Software, within the organizations systems life-cycle management policies and procedures.
  • Provide System documentation to achieve system certification and accreditation within the RMF framework.
