Essential Functions:

  • Establishes and maintains procedures that operational staff in Tech Support use for operational tasks related to supporting district end-user devices.
  • Functions as a technical lead or a team member on IT projects that include end-user device operating system upgrades and pushing applications to end-user devices.
  • Develops and maintains operational dashboards to monitor individual and team performance in key Tech Support-related areas.
  • Collects and houses tech support-related process and procedural documents in Office 365 in a way that supports process improvements, document version control, and change management.
  • Utilizes software and hardware tools, collaboratively works with other team members, departments and external partners to identify and diagnose and troubleshoot problems and improve performance.
  • Works from specifications to assist in the development and/or modification of operating software applications.
  • Provides technical support training.
  • Provides tier 2/3 level troubleshooting for technical issues.
  • Maintains a proficient technical knowledge of one City Schools' application programs, databases, operating system, and customer data retrieval process.
  • Participates in the training programs offered to increase technical, interpersonal, and communication skills and proficiency related to the projects to which assigned.
  • Utilizes tact and exercises good judgment in interacting with the general public, school and central office personnel.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies and the professional standards.
  • Maintains consistent communication with all key stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field, technical certification(s) and two years directly related experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field and three years directly related experience; or an Associate's degree in a technology-related field, technical certificate(s) and four years directly related experience; Associate's degree in a technology-related field, and six years directly related experience; or a High School degree and technical certification(s) and ten years directly related experience; Degree must be from an accredited college or institution.
  • Mac Engineer will possess system knowledge in the areas of MacOS Imaging, Patching, System Certificates) and Active Directory authentication using Centrify, and DISA (STIGs) security hardening guidelines to effectively support and grow these technologies
  • Experience providing support for all Mac equipment Apple Laptops, Workstations, and Servers.
  • Experience with HEAT or other incident management systems.
  • Experience with managing devices in an enterprise environment with an MDM tool such as Microsoft Intune or JAMF.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.
  • Experience developing technical documentation required.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365, and Visio.
  • Experience with Active Directory administration.
