The Tactical Buyer is responsible for one-off sourcing of non-sourced parts or one-off dual sourcing when required, as well as responsible for maintaining the master & order data of one-off changes and newly sourced parts. In addition the role supports Sourcing with contract management & price reduction initiatives.
This position has the focus on requesting a quote, placing an order, and expediting deliveries of non-sourced parts to ensure the quickest backorder recovery against most competitive costs. The role includes a high amount of communication as the daily bridge between suppliers and the rest of the organization, in particular the Parts Sales team, Sourcing, Engineering and Parts Purchasing & Planning.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
· Responsible for one-off sourcing of non-sourced parts or one-off dual sourcing when required
· Responsible for maintaining master and order data of one-off changes and newly sourced parts
· Responsible for unassigned sourcing queue in Jira, including the Parts not available for sales issue type
· Support Supply chain Leads and Sourcing Category teams with services specific technical and quality insights
· Closely works together with the FLU Parts Sales teams via proactive communication and support when requested with customer queries, particular in an emergency delivery unit down situation (VOR). Participate in escalation activities.
· Support Sourcing with contract coverage & management, including cost reduction initiatives
· Lead quality (claims) efforts to drive the industry’s best-in-class quality
· Supports continuous improvement results in current purchasing procedures, always focusing on the elimination of waste and non-value added activities
· Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies
· All other duties as assigned by your manager with the physical constraints of this job description
· Focus on achieving customer service targets by meeting KPIs for non-sourced parts, such as sales backorder value, open orders/requisitions without source, Average lead-time VOR & Non Available, Jira case management VOR NPS & TTFR/TTR
· Master & order data accuracy & price discrepancy targets
· Contract coverage
What you’ll need to succeed:
Education:
· Relevant degree (MSc / BSc)
· Lean Six-Sigma is a plus
Experience:
· Minimum 5 years of relevant global industrial experience (truck, construction machines, mining, agriculture or automotive)
· Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in sourcing roles in a global company
· Experience in working with large suppliers with global multi-site footprint and managing supplier relations and negotiations
· Experience in using ERP systems (Preferably SAP)
· Excellent English skills
Competencies:
· Sourcing skills; supplier relationship management; contract & commercial negotiation; and legal/contractual knowledge
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Analytical and a skilled Excel user
· Experience with WMS and TMS systems
· SAP experience is a plus
· Independent to get things done, but a strong team player
· Willingness to travel according to needs; also outside the US/to Europe
