Job Description

The Iowa Department of Transportation s Human Resources Bureau is looking for a new member to join its Workforce Management team. We re looking for someone who loves all things recruitment and wants to get in on the grassroots level as we revamp our recruitment efforts!

In this role, you will serve as a Talent Acquisition Recruiter and contribute your experience and knowledge towards fulfilling our Mission - Making Lives Better Through Transportation. Through your behaviors and actions, you will demonstrate the IDOT s Core Values: Safety First, People Matter, Customer Focused, Servant Leadership, and Integrity Without Exception alongside your IDOT teammates.

In this role you ll focus on:

  • Co-leading recruitment efforts across the agency with a recruitment partner
  • Ensuring the Department s recruitment brand is promoted and maintained
  • Connecting with various community partners for events and recruitment opportunities
  • Ensuring the Department s DEI and Core Values goals are integrated into all recruitment activities

Within your focus, here are some day-to-day responsibilities you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and managing vacancy advertising requests and processes from hiring managers
  • Sending and reviewing employment surveys
  • Planning and coordinating resources for recruitment events
  • Attending recruitment events to identify new talent.

In addition to your main focus and day-to-day activities, you will also get to contribute toward efforts related to:

  • Workforce and succession planning
  • Training efforts from the Human Resource Bureau level
  • Hiring process management and support
  • Retention efforts

This role is new to the Iowa DOT, and we are eager to find an enthusiastic, innovative, and knowledgeable recruiter! You will need to possess great communication, collaboration, time management and problem-solving skills to excel in this position as you will focus not only on process tasks but large brainstorming and program building efforts. Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
  • A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience in technical or professional human resources work, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience.
  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full-time work performing technical human resources work.
