PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
This part-time evening position comprises the instruction of the adult learner in English as a Second Language (ESOL). The typical class schedule is three hours per night, two nights per week, and the class is expected to be offered in the South Lake County Four Corners area. The projected start date is immediate.
DUTIES:
The teacher is expected to plan, prepare, and implement lessons relevant to the adult English language learner. Lessons should also integrate career exploration, pathways, and soft skills. The teacher will provide a safe and positive environment in which students are encouraged and motivated to be actively involved in the learning process. Various teaching methods such as group activities, individualized instruction, facilitation and use of technology will be employed throughout the lesson plan. Record-keeping and reporting procedures will be practiced. The teacher is expected to support student retention and guidance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The teacher must possess an accredited Bachelor?s degree or higher, and experience in instructing adults is highly recommended.
Current salary per hour is $23.00.
