Works under the direct supervision of the Lead Teacher to carry out assigned tasks and duties. These tasks and duties include but are not limited to the personal care and instruction teaching and guiding proper behavior and behavior management hygiene and overall well-being and social emotional academic and other developmental activities of children in their care. It also includes preparation for and implementation of activities and maintaining cleanliness decorations and safety of the classroom and ongoing communication with children and parents. Ensures compliance with Virginia State Licensing regulations. Works within the Mission Vision Philosophy Purpose and Goals of the Riverside Child Development & Learning Center and Riverside Regional Medical Center.

Duties

• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents verbally and electronically.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of professional child care experience.
• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• An understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
