Assist teacher with children and classroom duties.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist teacher in planning and implementing daily program under the
direction of the teacher, while adhering to and maintaining the daily
class schedule and lesson plans.
- Greet children and parents with a smile and personal welcome or good bye.
3) Assist in setting up, planning and preparing the learning environment and preparing needed materials and supplies.
4) Supervise the classroom when the teacher is out of the room.
- Make sure the room has been cleaned by student helpers by supervising and checking work upon completion. Help with general housekeeping tasks and clean in the absence of student helpers prior to departing in the evening.
- Assist teacher in any ways appropriate.
- Maintain professional attitude and loyalty to the Center at all times.
- Keep teacher informed of any behavior problems, incidents, illnesses or
accidents that occur after the teacher has left for the day so that the
teacher may converse with the parent about such matters the next day.
- Assist in snack preparation and clean up.
- Inform teacher of supplies and equipment needs.
11) Attend recommended training programs and conferences to enhance
professional growth; will be responsible for 15 contact hours per calendar year.
Qualifications
AA in Early Child Care and Education preferred. Will consider High School diploma and prior experience with young children in a licensed setting, ECD 101 credential preferred. It is necessary to understand developmentally appropriate practice.
