Assignment length – 9 months
Location – Irvine, CA
Schedule – Mon - Fri
Pay rate – $25.10
The Technician role supports R&D Engineers in key technical tasks for development projects. This position is part of the value engineering group for Critical Care Operations Engineering.
The Technician will help to accomplish the redesigning of established products for greater value and lower cost. This person will perform test method development to establish the device performance. This person will collaborate within a cross-functional team to define and accomplish the prototyping and technical feasibility testing of proposed designs, verification of product performance, and tooling aides for increased manufacturing productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing of prototypes with both established test methods and the development of new test methods to characterize design concepts
- Performing Design Verification testing as defined in approved protocols and using good documentation practices
- Presenting test results and producing reports in an organized and effective manner
- Trouble-shooting unexpected test results and performing root-cause analysis
- Familiar with rapid and traditional prototyping of design features for assessment and comparison
- Supporting facility, equipment, product, process validations, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvements
Additional Skills
- Work with limited supervision, think critically, and communicate effectively
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals, and an ability to deconstruct real world issues into root engineering causes
- Knowledge of statistics and the application of statistical tools, such as Minitab, is preferred. Candidate must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and be able to perform data analysis
- Experience with early product development process and creation of new design concepts • Strict attention to detail
- Ability to provide feedback in a professional, direct, and tactful manner
- Experience with 3D modelling software such as Solidworks
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Other technical degrees or significant design/test experience will be considered.
- 0-2 years of experience required
