Job Summary:


Under the supervision of the Director, the Maintenance Worker is responsible for the overall upkeep and maintenance of the entire center and other designated areas. Must meet all Department for the Aging and Department of Health requirements. **Please note this is a temporary position.**


General Responsibilities:

  • Check daily and vacuum clean elevator saddles as needed vacuuming in your assigned floors.
  • Pull down entire rubbish from your assigned floors and mop clean all rubbish rooms; replace the plastic bags.
  • Remove rubbish from the compactor nightly and make sure that compactor is empty.
  • Make sure that the freight elevator is clean and no equipment is left in the elevator and in the hallways if other porter is out.
  • Check daily and sweep and mop hallways 7th to 3rd floors as needed, at least once a week.
  • Respond to the security guard in the event of an emergency or as needed.
  • Complete work orders and assignments as directed by Supervisor.
  • Provide onsite assistance to Property Manager.
  • Fire brigade member during the shifts
  • Spray buff floors and clean all base boards as needed, at least 2 floors per week.
  • Mop and spry buff the entire lobby floor as needed and at least once a week.
  • Wipe down walls (Remove dust finger marks) on the 3rd to 7th floors as needed.
  • Scrub and wax hallways floor 3rd -7th monthly.
  • Scrub and wax lobby floor at least 4 times a year with other night porter.
  • On days the other porter is off, you will continue to perform the assigned duties- Check the entire building’s floors, remove rubbish from the entire floors, take the garbage out on the assigned date.
  • In winter, keep the sidewalk free of snow.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required and/or prior experience in a maintenance position (preferably with senior center experience).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects.

Schedule:


Tuesday - Saturday from 8:30 pa.m. - 4:30 p.m. This is a temporary position, expected to last approximately 12 weeks.
