Plains is looking to fill the role of Terminal Manager for our St. James, Louisiana terminal district. Reporting to the Manager, Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing petroleum terminal facilities and related pipeline systems within Plains’ Gulf Coast operations. In addition, the role leads operational planning, scheduling, and prioritization of tasks as well as controlling budgets/spending, coordinating with pipeline scheduling and field personnel, and managing employee performance. Responsibilities:
- Manage daily activities, roles, and responsibilities of team members to assure operations objectives are met.
- Manage workflows and tasks as related to operations.
- Ensure that each operational team is adequately staffed, trained, and equipped.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations affecting terminal / pipeline operations.
- Maintain a strong focus on team conformance to operational standards, safety, legal obligations, and commercial service commitments.
- Monitor and assure all local expenditures and timesheets adequately align with established work orders, plans, budgets, and expectations.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management, employees, customers, vendors, and outside regulatory agencies.
- Ensure rapid, systematic, and proficient responses to field risk, abnormal operating conditions, unplanned, or emergency events.
- Monitor, assess, and report the operating risk and service status of equipment against planned availability.
- Ensure equipment is operated and maintained to specified design parameters.
- Assist district leadership in fulfilling their accountabilities and implement and manage plans, programs, processes, systems, and procedures, as required.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years’ experience leading operations initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, customer service, and commercial performance.
- Pipeline / terminal operations and quality control experience required.
- DOT pipeline safety experience and understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations required.
- Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) required or able to obtain.
- Ability to recognize talent, build teams, and motivate staff to maximum productivity.
- Well-developed organizational, decision-making, prioritization, and interpersonal skills; capable of both providing and taking direction.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) with the ability to manipulate large databases.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks.
- Compliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
- Valid state driver's license and driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
