We are looking for a TPM to join our Software Engineering Team to help lead a wide variety of cross-functional initiatives including implementing data-driven processes, tracking change management, developing close partnerships with vehicle firmware stakeholders, educating cross-functional team members on vehicle firmware, and leading the adoption of new engineering tools and workflows. In this role, you will be leaned on as a team leader ensuring the team is working towards common goals and helping remove roadblocks that may come up. It is important this person thinks about a problem from different perspectives, uses data to justify proposals, stays organized, and “wear multiple hats”. The Software Engineering Team is responsible developing, validating, and shipping vehicle firmware releases to our growing fleet of Tesla vehicles. Releases can contain a variety of software changes from exciting improvements to critical bug fixes. As TPM, you will be expected to constantly brainstorm, discuss, and implement improvements to engineering workflows that will increase release efficiency (for example, replacing manual steps with an automated script) and/or increase release quality (for example, highlighting issues before release). After implementing changes, you must be prepared to measure improvement and respond to feedback from engineers and other stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
  • Enforce processes & have an organized method to track multiple changes to their deadlines
  • Analyze data & dashboards to find trends, track changes, & identify opportunities to improve operations
  • Manage cross-functional changes/initiatives from end to end
  • Communicate clearly, regularly, and effectively with leadership, stakeholders, and internal team members in both written and verbal forms.
  • Create automated scripts to replace unnecessary manual steps
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and exercises sound business judgment
What You’ll Bring
  • Must be returning from a recent career gap of at least 1 year
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics or other analytical fields; or related practical experience
  • Prior to employment gap, minimum 2 years of program management or consulting experience, working with software products/programs/clients (or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to work with limited resources, independently, tight deadlines, and with urgency
  • Ability to form strong relationships with cross-functional teams (manufacturing & engineering)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Python or Python projects
