About the Team
The commerce industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years and has become a hotly contested space amongst leading Internet companies, and its future growth cannot be underestimated. We are looking for a retail leader to join our newly formed team and oversee the growth of the beauty category.

About the Role:
The Category Head serves as the business leader responsible for building the foundation for Beauty for TikTok Commerce in the North America Region. This person will develop the go-to-market strategy, prioritize key initiatives, and build and lead a team of merchant sellers. They will be responsible for identifying the needs of the business, partnering with cross-functional partners and allocating appropriate resources to drive sustained growth.
Qualifications

• Craft overall strategy to deliver growth for the business - define goals, identify opportunities and design approaches.
• Build and develop a strong team to drive growth and align with the business strategy.
• Acquire and incubate beauty brand principals, distributors and merchants to support category growth. Bring a consultative approach that will align around a Customer First methodology
• Identify innovative collaborative models that fit into merchants' short-term and long-term development plans, and invest platform resources effectively and efficiently.
• Solve key challenges in business growth through strong collaboration with cross-function teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in e-commerce business; mixed experience in both platform side and brand/merchant side is highly preferred.
• 5+ years experience in beauty categories.
• 5+ years experience as a people manager, to manage a significant team size.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Team player, fast learner and open to changes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in content-based e-commerce
• Strong connections with brands and distributors
• Experience managing people managers of varying experience
• Ability to foster C-Level executive relationships with a genuine interest in customers’ success
• Ability to recruit and retain top talent
• A proven penchant for creative problem-solving
• Proven track record of high-level negotiation

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $121220 - $280896 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
