Job description
TGS Title Agents utilize online sources to determine ownership, find legal descriptions, encumbrances, maps, and/or taxes for the subject tracts pursuant to our Clients’ project requests. Demonstrating surface and mineral title experience is an advantage for this role.
Specific Position Functions

- Analyzes and abstracts instruments filed of record for the subject lands, by adhering to the scope of the title request
- Researches county official records (County Clerk’s records, Tax Appraisal District, Probate Court, Civil Court and District Court) through online resources and/or travel to applicable county courthouses
- Investigates by means of unofficial resources (Ancestry.com, FinAGrave.com, Obituaries, etc.) to track down heirship
- Compiles the abstracted information and all calculated interests into standard TGS Title Department reports for other TGS departments and/or the Client
- Deed plots metes and bounds tracts to ensure correct tract is abstracted
- Acts as a source of knowledge for title procedures, laws, and industry standard

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routines uses office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
Physical Demands
Primarily in an office environment. Position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, conduct other office duties to include the ability to see, hear, stand, walk, sit, and carry light items
Driving is required for business-necessary travel.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.
