General Function:

Under the guidance of the Childcare Program Director, the head caregiver is responsible for the overall direction of the Infant/toddler program including: planning and implementing the daily program, training, equipment, room environment, following children’s daily schedules, making sure state regulations are followed and working with other staff cooperatively to plan and implement special events. It is our goal to nurture in a fun, loving, positive manner, in which a child can grow and become sure of themselves and their abilities through physical, developmental and social learning.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have a strong interest and knowledge in infant and toddler development.
• Must possess strong communication and leadership skills, be compassionate and patient and have the knowledge necessary to establish and maintain a high-quality program.
• Must have the ability to work cooperatively with other staff members and volunteers to meet the needs of the YMCA.
• Must possess and maintain a clean criminal record.
• Be certified in first aid and CPR (provided by the YMCA)
• Be flexible in a fast-paced environment
• Be willing to continuously change and adapt the classroom space to meet the needs of the children in care.
• Patience, compassion and attentiveness

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
