Summary

Ascension Childcare, Inc is seeking a Toddler Educator to join and compliment our experienced, diverse, and dedicated teaching team. We are an established, NAEYC accredited, 5 STAR, SEED & Sew certified early education program in Shelburne that currently serves 65 children. We implement play-based, emergent curriculum, building experiences and exploration opportunities for children based on their curiosities about the world around them! We implement anti-bias education, ensuring we honor and value each child, each family, and each staff member. We foster a supportive, collaborative, and fun work environment for all staff.

Duties

All teachers at Ascension Childcare, Inc are held to a high standard of providing quality care and education. Teachers provide nurturing care, compassionate social/emotional coaching, a variety of learning opportunities, and guidance to the children enrolled in each class. Teachers work as part of a teaching team directly in the classroom, in addition to collaborative efforts with all teachers. Teachers are responsible for supervision of children, development and implementation of emergent curriculum for both indoor and outdoor learning environments, and maintaining health and safety practices. Toddler Teachers care for children ranging in age from 16 months to 3 years.

Requirements

Applicants must have experience working with children in an early education setting to be considered. We seek a demonstrated commitment to quality learning environments and success in engaging children. Excellent organizational skills, a willingness to learn and be flexible, patiences of steel, and kindness are a must. We expect all Ascension staff to use positive, encouraging language with children and implement positive behavior management strategies. Applicants must have experience with or willingness to learn about anti-bias education.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be available for full time employment between the hours of 7:30-5:30, M-F.
