Laundry Equipment- Traveling Field Service Technician

Technicians will diagnose and make repairs to commercial laundry equipment: washers, dryers, and finishing equipment. Electrical, mechanical, plumbing and appliance repair experience is a plus.

Essential Job Functions:

· Ability to repair, modify, and rebuild all laundry systems equipment

· Must be proficient in troubleshooting electrical, electronic and pneumatic controls

· Rebuild pumps, valves and regulators

· Excellent understanding of steam and/or thermal oil systems

· Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams

· Utilize a variety of testing equipment for troubleshooting of machines and systems to board level

· Dependable- More reliable than spontaneous

· People-Oriented- Enjoys interacting with people and working with other technicians and office staff.

· Installation and removal of laundry equipment

· Operation of forklift or other equipment (preferred)

· Experience operating hand tools

· Valid Driver's License.

· Availability to travel (80%)

· Passport (Preferred)

· Configuring hardware and software components after installation

· Performing routine maintenance on technology equipment

· Testing equipment to troubleshoot the issues

· Documenting installation and repairs

· Maintaining all tools and equipment during service call

· Teaching customers how to use the equipment properly

· Managing the stock of replacement parts and equipment when applicable

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to work with a team or independently

· Welding experience is a plus

· One year experience preferred. Other experience many be acceptable.

· Strong computer skills and aptitude to learn new programs and processes.

· Exceptional communication skills, oral and written.

· Ability to read and understand the basics of repair, instructions, schematics, parts manuals, written estimates, and work orders.

· Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills; adapts easily to fast-paced environment.

· Problem-solving skills to diagnose problems with malfunctioning equipment

· Time-management skills and staying on schedule

· Attention to detail to spot issues and complete accurate reports about the repairs

· Personable, friendly demeanor with a solid customer service approach to internal and external customers.

· Forklift operations or other rigging equipment skills

· OSHA certification (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $13.00 - $24.00 per hour

• 8-hour shift with overtime options possible depending on projects

Experience:

• field service technician: 1 year (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

• 80% remainder would be reporting to main office in Roanoke Rapids, NC

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

· Must be able to work consistently in between a climate-controlled office environment and a non-climate-controlled shop environment.

· Requires long periods of sitting or standing depending on daily workflow.

· Requires the use of stand office equipment (i.e., computer, copier, scanner,etc.)

· May require moderate standing, walking, bending, or stooping.

· May require occasional lifting of very heavy equipment.

· Operate a forklift and other equipment.
