Mount Sinai Doctors Long Island has been serving the Huntington community since 1945. We began with 3 physicians, the first board certified physicians in Suffolk County. Today we have over 75 physicians in 20 specialties who continue the Group’s tradition of quality of care. We have recently moved into a State of the Art building in Greenlawn. We also have additional offices in Commack, Nesconset and Bay Shore. In 1995, the Group became part of the Mount Sinai Health System. It now has access to Mount Sinai’s vast referral network and latest treatment options.
We are currently seeking a Full Time Ultrasound Technician M-F with Alt Saturday included
for our Greenlawn and Nesconset, NY locations.
Under general supervision of licensed physicians and/or Ultrasound Supervisor, performs and/or assists in performing ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Sets up, adjusts, and operates sonography equipment. Responds to patients' needs as required. Maintains. cleanliness of equipment and general working areas, stocking clinical supplies. Ensures proper operation of sonographic equipment. Provides instruction to medical students and residents. Provides care to patients of all ages in the form of diagnostic testing.
Job description as follows:
-Job requires a minimum level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through completion of a Bachelor' s degree or equivalent NYS-accredited training program in order to learn abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular neuro-trans-rectal or vaginal sonography, anatomy, physiology and biology.
-Prior work experience of 6 months is desired in order to gain familiarity on-the-job with administration of ultrasound testing. Should be familiar with the sonographic equipment such as Phillips and Siemens..
-Good analytical skills necessary for handling of ultrasound patients during administration of diagnostic testing. Must be able to appropriately assess the correct action to take during testing, while being cognizant of patient well-being.
-Good interpersonal manner important during delivery of patient care in order to ensure harmonious provision of ultrasound examinations and testing.
-Work requires manual dexterity for use of sonographic equipment and instruments. Light lifting of clinical supplies may be required. Adequate physical strength required for positioning of patients and equipment during examinations.
Qualifications:
- Sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is required.
