- Position Summary:*
- Performs all sonographic procedures for the diagnosis of specified disease or conditions using high frequency sound waves. Assists in the maintenance and completion of statistical data for ACR accreditation. Communicates with other Healthcare team members concerning diagnostic testing related issues. Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to a OB, pelvic, abdomen, thyroid, neonatal heads, renals, testicular, aorta, pancreas, gallbladder, biophysical profiles, breast, thoracentesis, paracentesis, FNA’s, transvaginal, carotids, DVT’s, vein mapping, PICC line insertion guidance, dopplar vascular examinations, and color-flow ultrasound examinations. Provides back-up support to co-workers as appropriate. Determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment. Demonstrates patient support activities such as patient flow, preparation, clean up and turn around of examination rooms. Documents all appropriate paperwork relative to examination, ensures images are appropriate in PACS. Reports equipment anomalies to manager and/or supervisor in a timely fashion. Provides all patients with information pertinent to their exams. Mentors sonography students.*
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
*Ultrasound Technologist 1 :*
2 (two) year of Radiologic experience or graduate of an accredited ultrasound program, and registry eligible. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a hospital setting. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of HHS on a daily basis. Professional demeanor and ability to multi-task. Call rotation required in Medical Imaging.
- Ultrasound Technologist 2 :*
5 (Five) years of ultrasound experience. Excellent knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a hospital setting. Excellent knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Possess registry that supports the goal of hospital: RDMS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, RVT – Registered Vascular Technologist. Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of HHS on a daily basis. Emerging leadership skills preferred. Professional demeanor and ability to multi-task. Call rotation required.
- Required Education, Licenses, and Certifications:*

- Graduate of an accredited school or successful completion of an approved one-year program in ultrasound technology, and registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible. Must pass boards within 1 year of employment
- Current BLS Required.
