We are looking for an animal lover with a deep knowledge of veterinary medicine and pet insurance to lead the underwriting strategy and execution for Lemonade Pet.

You’ll be responsible for enhancing and owning Lemonade’s strategy, setting the Pet team’s underwriting appetite and guidelines to ensure profitable growth. You will be a key resource for our growing Pet Underwriting Associate team, setting the direction they are to follow, and being a key subject matter expert. Working alongside various stakeholders, you will apply a customer-centric approach to all things Pet Underwriting.

In this role you’ll

• Lead our Underwriting Associate team
• Create and own Underwriting strategies and appetite
• Draft policy and endorsement language
• Implement and monitor key initiatives
• Evaluate new coverage solutions
• Ideate product solutions to ensure efficiency and scalability
• Ensure profitable growth through optimal risk selection

What you’ll need

• 7+ years experience as within the Pet Insurance space, having lead strategic initiatives
• Experience in reading and assessing medical records of dogs and cats
• Be a data-driven, independent thinker
• Ability to work and manage in a remote environment
• Previous experience in managing remote employees
• Proficiency in veterinary medicine terminology
