We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant for an available contract opportunity to provide on-site Dental services for the inmates housed at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) El Reno, El Reno, Oklahoma
Available Position: Dental Assistant
Place of Performance:
Services will be performed at the Federal Correctional Institution, 4205 US Highway 66 West, El Reno, Oklahoma.
Facility Information: The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) El Reno in El Reno, Oklahoma, is a medium security facility housing male offenders. The facility also has an adjacent satellite camp for minimum-security male offenders.
Work Schedule:
It is estimated that a maximum of 40 sessions per week will be needed with each session being one hour in length. Sessions will be performed from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period.
Basic Scope of Work:
The contractor shall provide professional non-personal services in the form of dental assistant duties to the Chief Dental Officer. The duties will include taking and processing various radiographs including panorex, periapical and bite-wing exposures; understanding and performing sterilization, disinfection and sanitation tasks; record keeping and documentation of dental procedures; chair side assisting, and summoning and seating patients for appointments. The contractor will also maintain all radiology films and radiology report files in accordance with BOP standards for filing of medical records. All work will be recorded and documented utilizing the Bureau’s Electronic Medical Record (BEMR). The contractor will also assist in training inmates to become dental assistants in a certified VT Dental program. The contractor is expected to participate in the institution in-service training programs on a mutually agreeable basis. Contractor is to be reimbursed at the prorated session rate for all institution in-service training programs.
Position Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Have completed a certified Dental Assistant training program and provide copies of the training.
2. Provide copy of dental assist permit.
