LinQuest Corporation is hiring highly skilled and motivated candidates to join a high-performance team and provide support to the US Space Command (USSPACECOM) J8 as an Operations Research Analyst. An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position. In this role, you will support the Command’s analysis of needs, capabilities, and application of resources. You will use future-oriented, enterprise-perspective military capability and resource analysis to support strategic effects and warfighter needs based on a foundation of operations research, systems analysis, and modeling and simulation.

Responsibilities:

  • Enable analytically supported decision-making efforts of USSPACECOM through the enhancement of analysis activities related to the space enterprise; enhance the analysis capabilities available to USSPACECOM, with collaboration between USSPACECOM and USSF.
  • Conduct defendable analysis to enable capability and resource characterization and decisions. Develop and maintain analytic baselines, which requires a familiarity of friendly and threat capabilities and an integrated analytic agenda and battle rhythm.
  • Gather strategic effect and warfighter needs; perform analyses to prioritize command gaps; perform or synthesize analysis; and characterize capabilities to support writing of requirements; provide statistical analysis to support strategic and operational decision making.
  • Design analytic approaches and analyze data, to include modeling and simulation output.
  • Explore DoD and commercial modeling and simulation tools, analytic efforts, data handling, and best practices regarding knowledge management to be considered for adoption in J8 and recommend known and future tools/programs to support USSPACECOM modeling efforts and meet development and research milestones.
  • Identify, collect, and build analytic tools to support USSPACECOM strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Develop strategic guidance documents including vision and priority visualization, process optimization, and organizational integration.
  • Perform literature/document reviews and meet with subject matter experts across the Space Enterprise to develop a better understanding and basis of the questions and analytical requirements for USSPACECOM decision-makers.
  • Leverage existing Joint Mission Threads (JMTs) and provide recommendations to support USSPACECOM and the Department of Defense strategic decision making.
  • Support development and execution of J81 strategic engagement plans, messaging objectives, and decision-maker engagements, as well as participation in J8 advocacy campaigns.
  • Generate measures to address, theater, campaign, or enterprise needs and for the MS&A analytical products to properly support space warfighter decision making at an operational/mission-level, theater/campaign, or enterprise level.
  • Act as a future-focused analytics SME through participation in working groups, OPTs, or design teams as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Modeling and simulation experience/skills required
  • Must be able to analyze space system operational, technical, programmatic, and acquisition inputs and formulate recommendations for senior leader consideration
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with briefing senior military and civilian leaders

Required Experience:

  • Deep and varied space operations and planning experience mandatory
  • Previous strategy and planning experience on a CCMD, MAJCOM, HHQ, Joint Staff, OSD etc. staff highly desired
  • Ability to identify and resolve challenges at a strategic level
  • Ability to brief/interactive with senior (GO/FLAG) level officer and senior civilians
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher required
  • Active TS//SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position

Compensation:

  • Starting salary ranges from $135,000 to $155,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications
