We are currently seeking Utility Arborists for full-time positions in Puerto Rico and the US Mainland. If you are an experienced Utility Arborist with transmission line experience, we want you to join our team!

Job Duties

• Follow safe practices and rules while clearing and trimming trees and brush away from utility lines
• Proper and safe use of various tree climbing techniques
• Perform simple and technical tree removals using conventional rigging techniques in a safe and efficient manner
• Safely perform all types of small and large tree care pruning
• Perform simple and technical crane tree removals in a safe manner
• Efficiently and safely climb and work from trees with our without the use of an aerial lift device
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment including a chipper, stump grinder, and chainsaw in a safe and responsible manner
• Safely hoist tools and equipment to tree trimming work area
• Safely lower branches with ropes or block and tackle
• Climb trees using the proper climbing hooks and belts or climb ladders to gain access to work areas
• Adhere to, enforce and practice workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
• Ensure the proper setup of signage and barriers to ensure public safety
• Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting
• Diagnose / identify defects in equipment
• Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and regulations
• Report equipment defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the equipment
• Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form
• Complete all necessary paperwork (may include, but is not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, equipment inspection, hours of service, etc.)
• Wear appropriate PPE as required by task completed
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

• ISA Certified Arborist
• Experience on Transmission/Distribution Lines
• CTSP designation an asset
• Knowledge and experience in vegetation management methods
• Minimum 5 years of tree climbing experience
• Ability to operate all equipment safely and efficiently
• Physically able to perform all physical actions pertinent to the job and equipment operation
• Ability to communicate with co-workers and take direction
• Ability to safely work around hazardous equipment
• Willing and able to work in all outdoor conditions, as long as it’s safe to do so
• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine maintenance on all require tools and equipment
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Valid driver s license and safe driving record
• Valid First Aid w/ CPR certification
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus
