What you’ll do

The VM Technician performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, modification and repair activities in assigned maintenance operations areas which may include buildings, maintenance and repair of Forklifts, Cranes, Man Lifts, Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Maintenance Carts, Maintenance Trucks

  • Perform inspections and major repair to all equipment in accordance with manufacturer task instructions.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical problems with the various material handling systems and determine the cause to be able to make the necessary repairs/corrections needed to maintain operational status.
  • Performs daily review of powered equipment operator checklists to ensure equipment deficiencies noted are rectified
  • Performs or assists in the replacement of defective gearboxes/drive units on forklifts and other powered equipment and must be able to change/replace lubricant utilizing the proper type
  • Able to remove and replace hydraulic hoses on powered equipment ensuring that all pressure is relieved from line prior to commencement
  • Able to remove and replace hydraulic cylinders on powered equipment ensuring that all pressure is relieved from cylinder prior to commencement
  • Removes and replaces hydraulic seals utilizing the proper tools and ensures replacement seal is the correct type and size
  • Has the skill and knowledge required to properly remove and replace bad/worn electric motor brushes
  • Proficient in and must be able to Interface, adjust/calibrate and program with GE handset or onboard keypads, SCCR, EV1, EV100, and Access 123
  • Skilled in and must rebuild steering system and components

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour
