Hometown Animal Hospital/All Pets Dental Clinic is looking for a Veterinary Technician!

Hometown Animal Hospital/All Pets Dental Clinic, owned by National Veterinary Associates, is an AAHA accredited general practice/referral dentistry clinic in Weston, FL.

A Veterinary Technician will function mostly in a surgical/outpatient setting working directly with providing care to our patients. A technician is routinely entrusted with patient assessments, anesthesia monitoring, procedure assistance and treatment administration. A technician must be able to work well under pressure, make informed decisions, respond quickly to urgent matters, and maintain high standards of patient care.

A Veterinary Technician will also be expected to participate in advanced dental procedures by taking dental radiographs, scaling and polishing teeth, taking before and after pictures, or preparing dental go home reports. Our team of trained dental technicians is prepared to teach a candidate who is willing to learn the ins and outs of advanced dentistry. Drs. Elizabeth McMorran and Jan Bellows also regularly conduct wet labs which staff can attend to broaden their skillset.

Excellent communication skills and a commitment to outstanding client service are essential. Strong reading, writing and math skills are required.

Expectations

• Assist doctors with surgical procedures as needed
• Provide patient care, including: treatments, injections, evaluations, monitoring, post surgical care and preparing home care instructions
• Collecting specimens and performing basic lab work
• Participation in advanced dental procedures
• Taking x-rays, CBCT scans and photographs
• Care and upkeep of medical equipment and instruments
• Client relations, including outbound calls to clients and face-to-face interaction
• Updating patient medical records to reflect care given
• Ensure client satisfaction through excellent service
• Inform clients about products and services offered

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
• Licensed, Certified and Registered Veterinary Technicians HIGHLY encouraged!
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior veterinary clinic experience required
• Avimark experience a PLUS!
