Jet Aviation is looking for a customer focused, talented and hugely passionate individual to join our leadership team to establish and direct your strategy for all operations of our FBO Operations for the Americas. The Vice President FBO Operations Americas is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable development and subsequent operation of Jet Aviation’s network of FBO locations in the North America Region. More specifically, this GM is responsible for the profit-and-loss performance of the business through direct oversight for individual site-specific FBO and for all key support functions such as sales, key client relationships, networking, and customer service.

This GM also serves as a key external spokesperson for the organization while managing a liaison program with key external constituent groups including customers, industry partners, suppliers, government regulators and media to ensure that Jet Aviation’s interests are coordinated with those of such parties.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the business plan for the region by orchestrating an ongoing planning process which produces a clear and compelling vision and mid- and long-term business objectives for the region
  • Ensure that Jet Aviation’s North America Region develops and maintains, in the face of current and future competition, a compelling and differentiable customer value proposition that drives profitable revenue, and profit growth while maintaining cost controls.
  • Based on the broad direction provided by the strategic plan, develop and gain approval for the business unit’s annual business plan, operating plan and operating budget. Manage ongoing business and operating performance and provide timely and accurate reporting against the plans and budgets.
  • In close cooperation with the SVP , develop, syndicate, and pursue a vision for the region, growing the business toward that vision through a combination of healthy organic growth, prudent and selective acquisitions and joint ventures/alliances.
  • Provide strong and inspired leadership to all the employees of the region, promoting and maintaining strong employee morale. Establish highest service expectations for all employees with regard to performance and adherence to company values.
  • Effectively manage relations with key internal stakeholders and ensure that such stakeholders are fully informed on and, as appropriate, consulted on key issues and decisions within the region. Share information and results freely and openly so as to capture the full potential of the region within the whole.
  • Develop and execute an organizational plan for all key functions under his/her direction as a function of the unit’s strategic and operating plans. Ensure that major functional “holes” in the organization are addressed and that appropriate succession plans are developed and implemented.
  • Ensure the delivery of a safe, regulation compliant operation through close cooperation with the VP HSE and Security
  • Ensure the delivery of outstanding customer service and operating integrity by probing into daily operating performance and spending quality time “in the field.”
  • Through his/her leadership team, provide active leadership in the resolution of customer and operational issues as they arise.
  • Through his/her management team, oversee the day-to-day operations of the region within Jet Aviation’s portfolio, ensuring adherence to high levels of customer service, safety, cost control, operational integrity and financial performance.
  • Ensure that the business meets all government and General Dynamics/Jet Aviation laws, regulations and policies on an ongoing basis. Address potential deviations immediately.
  • Manage relationships with senior representatives of various internal and external constituent groups including customers, joint venture partners, employees, and suppliers to include, various levels of government regulators and local communities
  • Align with complimentary functions (Aircraft Management, Charter, Staffing) to cooperate on building the best Jet Aviation business and economic solution to issues and situations.
  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years’ relevant aviation services work experience
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of own and other disciplines within functional area
  • Advanced industry and competitor landscape knowledge, including their strategic drivers
  • Profound knowledge of economic drivers and their implications and change management on company performance
  • Profound experience in KPI driven management of a global function or major region including contributing and influencing setting of the respective functional strategy
  • Financial experience in forecasting and budgeting
  • Strong leadership in a matrix environment
  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills to influence internal and external stakeholders with great latitude on outcomes
  • Extraordinary customer focus

The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
