The Vice President of Operations plans, directs, coordinates and oversees all aspects of Mammotome Global Operations ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization. Span of control includes global Supply Chain and Logistics, Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturing, Supplier Management, Facilities/Safety, PPV/VAVE, Global Service Operations and Global Distribution.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads a Global team of ~350 people across numerous functions across 3 primary sites – Tijuana, Cincinnati, and Shanghai - driving both development of talent and a seamless succession of talent in key roles.
- Establishes, implements and communicates the strategic direction of the Mammotome manufacturing and operations functions.
- Collaborates with the senior leadership and President of the OpCo to develop and meet company financial goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
- Creates and monitors Ops-level Policy Deployment (top priority strategic initiatives) by identifying plant operations breakthroughs, implementing change through the use of comprehensive action plans and aligning resources to achieve targeted KPIs across the operations including for Safety, On-Time Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (Labor and Material).
- Establishes and maintains the global supply chain capabilities and relationships needed to ensure effective Inventory Planning/Management, Warehousing, Product Distribution/3PL Management on a global basis.
- Establishes and maintains internal manufacturing capabilities and external contract manufacturing relationships needed to produce and/or source products that meet all quality, service and cost requirements.
- Responsible for the strategic relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers, procurement and cost reduction of both direct and indirect materials.
- Conducts effective due diligence of Operations related to potential acquisitions and to achieve effective integration of Operations related to realized acquisitions.
- Responsible for developing both a PPV and VAVE funnel and driving execution of strategies to recognize yearly cost savings.
- Establishes a culture of integrity and innovation and leads through the Danaher Business System (DBS), implementing Lean, visual management and daily management across all reporting functions while driving a culture of continuous improvement where DBS is leveraged to drive to root cause and stimulate new and improved processes to better all aspects of Operations.
- Oversees the full life cycle of reliability, from issue resolution, to root cause analysis and execution of engineering/manufacturing change.
- Responsible to ensure that all business policies, procedures and practices comply with legal and other regulatory requirements and to ensure that all employee conduct is in compliance with said requirements on a global basis.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining Global Facilities needed to support all business requirements on a global basis.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 15 years Manufacturing and/or Operations experience in medical equipment and/or life science/device industry required including at least 7 years of leadership experience.
- Experience working in and/or leading multiple functions within operations (Supply Chain, Quality, Safety, Sustaining Eng, Purchasing and New Product introduction to manufacturing).
- Proven track record of operational excellence in an organization that practices DBS or lean principles.
- Clear evidence of developing team members to take on broader assignments and grow their careers.
- A Quality champion, who continually drives improvement to better serve our customers.
- Fluency in Spanish and English required.
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- APICS or ISM certification desired, or equivalent Danaher-specific experience
- Lean/Six Sigma experience
EDUCATION
- BA/BS degree, or equivalent relevant experience, required
- MA/MS degree, or equivalent relevant experience, preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- 50% travel with a mix of domestic and international locations including a strong presence in the Tijuana manufacturing plant.
