About the ANA’s Measurement for Marketers Practice

Strategically setting, leading, and supporting the execution of marketing’s measurement agenda.

Measurement is a core discipline of marketers and is deeply woven into all aspects of today’s marketing agenda. Measurement is the key to gaining crucial business insights, carrying out successful ad campaigns, making data-driven business decisions, and generating strategic growth.

Marketers can leverage the Measurement for Marketers (MFM) practice, which drives needed changes in measurement, analytics, and research. MFM helps marketers navigate a complex measurement ecosystem, while educating them on business-impacting changes and fostering a measurement and research community.

MFM’s leadership helps marketers through:

  • Education: on business-impacting changes and initiatives
  • Leadership of industry initiatives, including the ANA Cross-Media initiative
  • Community creation for marketing and media measurement

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership of Measurement for Marketers (MFM) practice events:

  • Collaborate with ANA marketers to understand key business issues, maintaining a finger on the pulse in the world of measurement and analytics.
  • Curate topics for a full slate of MFM events that address marketer needs and help drive growth within their businesses.
  • Build relationships and foster collaboration with other departments within the ANA to understand the challenges facing ANA members. Departments include, but are not limited to, Cross-Media Measurement Steering Leadership team, membership, conferences, sponsorship, data & analytics, Media Leadership Growth Council, CMO Growth Council and the executive leadership team.
  • Plan, curate speakers and co-manage the execution of the MFM events including:
    • National Industry Conferences:
      • Measurement & Accountability conference, September 14-16, Carlsbad, CA
      • Measurement Day (2023)
      • Measurement, Data and Analytics conference (Q2 2023)
    • Webinar Series
    • Measurement Committee meetings
    • Measurement Advisory Council
  • Provide leadership support in managing MFM events (virtual, in-person and hybrid)
    • Curate programs and list of potential speakers
    • Communicate with subject matter experts for the events to ensure focus on their presentation and alignment with the theme and requirements for the event.
    • Provide logistical support with Sr Manager for MFM, as needed

Content Development for Measurement for Marketers

  • Develop analysis and best practices for MFM events
    • Develop executive recap and statistical analysis of all MFM events. Benchmark them to ANA events and MFM planned targets
    • Co-develop and distribute lessons learned/best practices measurement events documents
    • Share results with strategic partners and discuss opportunities to take events to the next level
  • Collaborate on and review proprietary content, including but not limited to:
    • Co-develop presentations and deliverables for Measurement for Marketers stakeholders
    • Measurement blog, white papers, short form ‘social media friendly’ content

Team Leadership for Measurement for Marketers staff

  • Supervise and coach MFM Sr. Manager and other MFM staff in confidence, skill building and collaborative work style
    • Collaborate on projects, execution steps and timelines to ensure on-time-in-full delivery of events
    • Problem-solve, in a training and growth building fashion, as needed

Qualifications

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of client-side marketing, media, measurement, research or other relevant prior work experience
  • Experience in strategic planning and curating national industry events or events targeting executive stakeholders and decision makers
  • Experience at an analytics agency and/or measurement organization would be an added plus
  • Subject matter expert in topical areas, e.g., measurement, advertising, media, digital and data-driven marketing
  • Ability to travel within the U.S. (light travel activity)

Salary and Total Rewards Package:

Starting pay range: $160,000 to $170,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.
