The VP of Marketing is charged with leading the marketing team to do four things: understand the customer and their journey, create leads for the sales team; build a positive brand image with our customers; and create the marketing assets the sales team needs to close business. You have a significant budget and team to do so. You are reviewed by how well you improve ROI. Your key internal stakeholders besides your people are the VP of Sales and VP of Supply Chain.
You and your team will plan and execute all branding and lead generation initiatives for School Outfitters. You must want to drive change, have an impact on the bottom line and create a legacy of great work with your fellow team members inside and outside the department.
Must have skill and experience in:
  • Leading eCommerce marketing efforts
  • Creating combined marketing plans with peers in sales and supply chain
  • Generating leads for sales teams
  • Perfecting the brand promise of the company and telling that story to prospective customers
  • Developing leaders on the team that can increase skills and capacity and be promoted
  • Building a positive culture within marketing where employees feel valued and challenged
  • Creating multi-channel plans for marketing and branding activities within planning years and across planning years
  • Selling your vision of the future to your team and your peers
  • Generating customer understanding to enhance branding and campaigns
  • Improving performance on key marketing-related metrics
  • Managing a multi-discipline team to produce great tactical work
  • Employing digital marketing including paid search, SEO, social media and related tactics with the related expertise required for these
  • Innovating wherever the customer will value it
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Strong financial analysis background
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in marketing with strong digital/ecommerce experience
  • Experience running a team of at least 10 people
