About this role

The Vice President of Sales will lead the Sales organization for Vendr and is responsible for setting and executing on the company's overall sales strategy and vision. This individual will work with the executive team and sales leadership to identify, develop, and implement an effective sales strategy while developing domestic and international sales objectives. In addition, responsible for short and long-term revenue expansion, including managing the strategic direction to meet targets. They will also ensure marketing efforts are prioritized correctly to support the short- and long-term needs of the sales organization.

The Vice President of Sales is chartered with delivering new client sales and working with our Customer Facing team to expand our footprint within existing customers. You will build a high-performance sales organization that reflects Vendr's core values. This is reflected in a high commitment to client transparency and staff accountability; active investment in continuous improvement; highly robust repeatable processes and methods; and unambiguous measures of effectiveness in delivering meaningful results for clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic and operational direction to the Sales organization to maximize sales revenues and meet organizational objectives
  • Scale and lead a fast-paced sales organization focused on rapid growth
  • Motivate and coach a team of Sales Leaders
  • Define the monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales plans (growth model) in partnership with Finance, Marketing and other departments
  • Work with our customer facing teams to retain and grow our largest accounts
  • Evolve a high-velocity sales strategy with prospects and customers to expand the company's footprint
  • Plan accurate and scalable forecasting across both short and long sales cycles
  • Evangelize a value-based sales methodology in order to effectively communicate how we add value
  • Partner with Marketing to establish lead flow expectations, uncover prospecting opportunities, and develop campaigns to hit bookings and revenue targets
  • Partner with other internal cross-functional teams (e.g. Customer Success, Product and Engineering) to improve product and service offerings
  • Promote an engaged, energetic, and inclusive environment that encourages high productivity while maintaining a positive work experience
  • Create accountability within the company by developing appropriate metrics and performance expectations for their team
  • Consistently demonstrate a passion for Vendr's core values

What we're looking for in a qualified candidate:

  • 10+ years of experience in Executive Sales leadership at a global saas company
  • Proven experience in scaling and growing a Sales organization within a growing saas company
  • Exceptional character and high integrity
  • Deep understanding of land and expand subscription/ recurring revenue models and proven success of growth and revenue attainment within that business model
  • Extensive executive sales leadership experience in software sales, leading at a national and global level with proven year after year team quota achievement
  • Extensive experience leading a sales organization selling saas into all size companies, Enterprise, Mid-Market and SMB.
  • Proven ability to take a new product to market, execute and deliver on sales goals
  • Self-starter, independent, resourceful – driven to action and results
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills; verbal and written
  • Ability to perform and thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment; able to think strategically and execute tactically
  • Strong sales operations skills around forecasting, account management, commission plans and budgeting
  • Proven success leading teams in structuring complex deals with multiple variables; must have strong analytical skills
  • Proven success in identifying, building, growing, and managing a distributed Sales Team
  • Strong leader and problem solver with excellent customer facing capabilities to influence and negotiate
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to drive decision-making across multiple organizational functions
