Job description
LEO Inc. is a community action agency providing supportive services for at-risk, low-income families, stabilizing them for the short-term while investing in a long-term, two-generation approach to education that promotes economic independence and family stability. We partner with individuals, children and families in Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Saugus, Swampscott, and Wakefield to increase participation in programs that maximize their potential. Together we demonstrate that it is possible to break the cycle of poverty and move forward. LEO’s signature programs are Early Head Start and Head Start; early education and care for children from birth to 5 years, home heating energy assistance, emergency rental assistance and food insecurity alleviation for seniors.
Member Duties : The VISTA will create video content for community education; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion visibility; LEO recruitment; and other agency-wide goals; edit and design flyers to support Community Engagement efforts across the agency; Support agency-wide collaboration through video and media work that recognizes multiple departments; Plan with fellow VISTAs to support a communication strategy that furthers LEO’s mission and agency goals; Engage in distribution phase of in-progress documentary short project; and Participate in occasional community outreach events (including weekend and evening dates). The ideal candidate would possess: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (preferred) or Final Cut Pro; Basic camera operation, lighting, and audio skills; Excellent communication & writing skills with a desire to build relationships; Knowledge of Canva (preferred).
