Position Summary
The JSUGlobal Office of International Studies at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Visa Immigration Coordinator/Study Abroad Advisor position. The Visa Immigration Coordinator/Study Abroad Advisor is directly responsible for the collection, processing, and filing of documents in support of international students. Also advises students on career paths and study abroad opportunities, and plans activities in support of the international student population.
Qualifications
Minimum Required Education
Master’s Degree in Education, International Studies, International Business, or a related field.
Minimum Required Experience
A minimum of two years experience in education, customer service, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to fluently speak another language highly desirable, experience with students.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with technology.
- Ability to work well in an office environment.
- Multitasking skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, process, file, and preserve documents in support of international student population.
- Advise international students of career opportunities (Curricular and Optional Practical Training) and temporary employment while in the United States.
- Plan, facilitate, and support activities in support of the international student population.
- Facilitate new student orientation.
- Promote and advise opportunities in the Study Abroad Program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
