Current shift needs are as follows:
Mondays 9:00am-12:00pm
Mondays 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Tuesdays 9:00am-12:00pm
Tuesdays 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Wednesdays 9:00am-12:00pm
Wednesdays 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Thursdays 9:00am-12:00pm
Thursdays 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Fridays 9:00am-12:00pm
Fridays 2:00pm – 5:00pm
WE WILL NOT CONSIDER YOU FOR ANY OTHER SHIFT.
A/V Volunteers provide in-room entertainment to all inpatient families utilizing our internal CCTV Channel. We broadcast live, interactive shows throughout the week including game shows, sing-alongs, musical performances, and other educational/entertaining activities. As an A/V volunteers, you will have opportunity to host, produce, direct, and mix live shows/performances and even pitch new show ideas to put into production.
A/V volunteers also assist in other department tasks and responsibilities such as:
Audio and Video Post-Production A.V data management Producing advertisements for non-clinical spaces and services available for patients Producing intro/outro videos and graphics for shows.
Experience in some of these tasks is recommended but not required. Shifts are 3 hours in length. Volunteers sign up for a three hour shift each week, the commitment is for 6 months or 80 hours.
Some shifts may be full and not adding additional staff at this time. Volunteers will be selected based on availability and qualifications.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Able to commit to 6 months of volunteering
- Have a passion and/or background in A/V work
- Able to take and give direction on set
- Able to receive feedback and open to learning new concepts
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Able to work with children in varying age groups
- Able to work well with diverse populations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sensitive to patient and family situations / dynamics
Maintain and respect professional relationships
