Job Title: Manager, Volunteer
Organizational Relationship: Reports to the CEO and Director of Operations
Classification: Full Time Employee
Job Location: Central Office, Cook, Grundy, and Kendall Counties
Summary Statement of Primary Functions:
Cultivate and manage volunteers to support programming and operational goals. Initiate recruitment strategies, provide guidance through onboarding and care during tenure to cultivate engagement and ensure a rewarding volunteer experience. Manages volunteers and develops training programs for the volunteers. Manages volunteer tracking database. Ensures that all programs have the volunteer support necessary to operate efficiently. Develops marketing materials, plans outreach events, and actively participates in community engagement to bring more clients into our programs. Act as a liaison in the communities we serve.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage volunteer program administration throughout all counties.
2. Manages Will County Volunteer Coordinator.
3. Develop training andon-going learning experiences forvolunteers.
4. Develop creative outlets for volunteers that will engage them in programs benefiting our seniors.
5. Manage recruitment of new volunteers across counties served, including application review, interviewing, background check, on-boarding, training and management
6. Implement new ways to recruit volunteers in areas where there are deficits
7. Manage volunteer database to ensure accuracy, training, etc.
8. Build a program that promotes corporate volunteerism on a regular basis.
9. Assist in planning annual events including annual fundraiser, March for Meals, annual volunteer luncheon celebration, etc.
10. Create marketing materials for volunteer recruitment as well as obtaining new clients for nutrition programs
12. Research and apply for grant opportunities that will expand our services to seniors in the communities we serve.
13. Engage donors and board members with opportunities for them to volunteer during evenings and weekends.
14. Develop relationships with key partners to assist with outreach and volunteer recruitment.
15. Cultivates and supports excellent public relations and close community coordination, promotes the programs with political subdivisions, community organizations, and aging service providers.
16. Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Must have the ability to work a varied schedule including occasional nights and weekends
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to speak in front of large audiences
- Must be efficient at Microsoft Office programs; Adobe Suite experience preferred
- Ability to travel regularly
- Able to work under stressful conditions and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Must have extensive experience with customer service, working with the public, and working through stressful situations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
