SUMMARY
The Warehouse/Inventory (Operations) Manager position is responsible for Managing the Warehouse and Yard functions in the Yakima location, as well as Lead the Safety culture throughout the region. Warehouse functions to include Order Fulfillment (both online and in-house orders), Shipping & Receiving (Company owned and 3PL), Transfer process and Inventory control functions. Yard functions would include Customer Service, Order-fulfillment, unloading product (Containers, Dry-Van and LTL), Loading product (Company owned equipment, LTL and transfer drivers) and dispatch functions.Spanish speaking a plus but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Warehouse Manager must possess strong people skills and a good working knowledge of all warehouse operations, including the ability to hire, train, assess, lead, and motivate warehouse and yard team members. Strong organizational skills will be required in order to manage the flow of product both in and out.

Develop flexibility in your direct reports through regular communication with them to understand their career goals, interests, and performance. Work to ensure that they continue to grow and develop appropriately. Coach your team toward realistic career goals and development needs.

Help to instill a Safety-first culture that is led by example.

This position requires frequent communication and positive interaction with other management positions with-in the company. Including but not limited to: All Store Managers, Supply Chain Management, Sales Managers and Operations Administration.

It is critical that this individual foster an environment of Communication, Teamwork, Comradery, and the spirit of Cooperation.

Create and build a sustainable performance improvement culture ensuring accountability and execution.

Customer Service – Warehouse, yard, and delivery team. The responsibilities include maintaining the warehouse and lot in a neat, clean, and fully functioning state (driving aisles clear, items stored appropriately following proper safety and storage guidelines). Follow proper procedures for order fulfillment (invoices for immediate pick up, pick tickets for staging of future purchases).

Responsible for loading the items into the customer’s vehicle, either by hand or with a forklift. Assure all loads are properly loaded, signed, and prepared prior to leaving lot. Loads may weigh up to 50-60 pounds; heavier loads are done with a forklift.

Unload freight trucks as appropriate.

Assures all hazardous materials are properly stored, secured, shipped, and documented.

Identify and implement robust inventory processes and procedures to help optimize inventory accuracy and control.

Adherence to WDOT guidelines, reporting (e-road management), and fleet maintenance. Also, responsible for all schedule maintenance if required on any forklift, pallet jack or other equipment necessary to perform these duties in a safe and proper operating manner.

Work side by side with Warehouse staff in pulling orders, receiving product, unloading product, preparing transfers, and reinforcing procedures around where product is to be staged for shipping or for store transfer.

As requested, deliver supplies to customers, utilizing an OVS vehicle.

Special projects as are deemed necessary.

Will be required to work rotating Saturday’s during the busy season.

Be an Efficiency and Productivity Advocate.Constantly be on the lookout for ways to do what we do with greater efficiency, and at a higher level of productivity, and then take action with management to make those things happen.

Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will have direct reports that have a range of priorities. This is a working management position; this candidate will be called on to jump in and help with all daily tasks and priorities as and where needed. All work should be evaluated, scheduled, and delegated throughout the team daily to achieve operational goals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; to effectively present information to top management, clients, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Sufficient proficiency with Microsoft and experience with a PC network utilized to fulfill job responsibilities.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver’s License. Forklift certification (internal).
