Job description

Under the direct supervision of the County Weed Control Manager or Assistant Coordinator, duties include the identification and control of noxious weeds throughout the County, as well as public education. Follows established weed management methods while observing public, personal and environmental safety. Performs other tasks as needed. This is a seasonal full time position that works approximately 6 months from early May to late October.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

The incumbent in this position must be able to successfully perform the following essential job functions and duties:

  • Locates areas infested with noxious weeds.
  • Follows protocols developed by Weed Control Manager designed to control weeds, including conducting chemical treatments, hand pulling and other approved techniques.
  • Maintains specific records for weed control activities.
  • Performs related duties as necessary and required by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED Required. • Work Experience: At least one year of pest management experience required. • Licenses and Certifications: Valid Colorado driver’s license and Colorado Department of Agriculture Certified Applicators License or Qualified Supervisors license required.
