Golden Queen Mining Company, LLC (the “Company”) is operating a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore. This is a safety sensitive position.
The Company is seeking a " Welder" to service and repair large mining equipment.
The Welder will report to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- The Welder is responsible for performing fabrication and welding repairs on both mobile and fixed process mining equipment.
- This person would need to be a self starter that can take and follow direction as needed.
- Have 5 years minimum experience in the industrial welding field.
- Have a good working knowledge of metallurgy, and multiple welding technics.
- Working knowledge of post and pre heat procedures.
- Able to read blue prints and do fabrication based on those prints.
- Able to use oxy acetylene cutting and welding torches.
- Willing and able to do shift work as needed.
- Able to climb and lift 50lbs.
- Driver’s license is required
- High school diploma or GED
