The Institute for Human Development (IHD), a University Center on Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (IHD) is an applied research and training center for human services designed to exemplify the University’s goals of engaged scholarship and community partnerships. Its functions include interdisciplinary training, applied research, community program development and information dissemination.

Job Description


This position will coordinate a statewide project to strengthen and increase the early childhood workforce in Missouri. The Workforce Project Coordinator’s activities will include supporting a project team of external stakeholders and managing the project. This position will also lead and manage an internal project team, support the project director, coordinate external meetings and activities, conduct the process and outcomes evaluation, and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project leadership to create project goals, policies, procedures, and implementation strategies.
  • Manage the project and coordinate activities to complete the scope of work.
  • Monitor performance data as related to goals, objectives, and implementation fidelity, including subcontract administration and completion of scopes of work.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and guidance to staff.
  • Maintain consistent and timely communication with IHD leadership.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with project partners and community stakeholders.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and making hiring recommendations for team roles.
  • Collaborate to create program budgets, proposals, and subcontracts.
  • Prepare reports and make presentations to stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications


A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an organization related to early childhood (birth through 3rd grade). May include direct service providers, government, higher education, school districts, or support agencies related to early childhood.
  • Master’s degree in early childhood education or closely related
    field
  • Experience in project coordination and management
  • Experience in project design and implementation, including proposals, reporting, and
    budget creation
  • Experience in supervising a team


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood best practices
  • Proficiency with technology including Office 365, video conferencing, and file storage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a leadership team to complete tasks, meet goals, and
    manage projects

Salary


$63,860 - $80,000 annually commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
