Position Overview

Full professional level in Workforce Development under general supervision of the Program Coordinator requiring considerable knowledge of Human Services or Workforce Development program coordination, scheduling, and presentations for available community resources related to the attainment of education, employment, and healthcare goals for youth (age 14-24) working in conjunction with schools, community groups, healthcare organizations, and government agency partnerships to increase programming effectiveness for target population. Performs the material and substantial duties of the classification more than 50% of the time.

Summary of Job Duties

Manages, plans, develops, schedules, coordinates and promotes Youth Resource Center events and activities to address the evaluated targeted audience (age 14-24) all-inclusive needs. Works with community groups, healthcare organizations, schools, government agencies, and businesses to organize and conduct these activities which prevent further declines of Youth Resource Center client goals in relation to areas of behavior, health, education and/or employment. Initiates contact with interested parties, has input on writing program policies and procedures, assists in preparation of annual budgets, and obtains necessary resources. Identifies and facilitates opportunities for regional and local partnerships and collaborations to leverage impact of programs and events. Responsible for increasing active client participation in assigned Youth Resource Center specific programs year after year. Responsible for assessing positives and negatives for each program outcomes, making adjustments, redesigning as necessary to continually improve effectiveness of assigned programs. Provides guidance and instructions to volunteers while overseeing program activities and events. Must be able to answer public inquiries about various human services planning and development programs in general and Youth Resource Center programs specifically.

Designs, develops and prepares materials, oversees logistics of coordinating the Youth Resource Center's available computer lab and community spaces, utilizes computer software to design and prepare communication materials (e.g. brochures, flyers, Power-Point presentations). Conducts presentations on Youth Resource Center specific programming objectives to community groups, healthcare organizations, schools and other government agencies to increase public awareness of prevention goals as it relates to targeted audience (age 14-24). Must be able to tailor material to meet audience needs. Utilizes software to prepare spreadsheets for tracking and analysis purposes, business letters, e-mails, etc.

Assists Program Coordinator with all other program scheduling, coordinating, material preparation and promotion of various Youth Resource Center prevention and intervention events and activities as directed.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Must have current valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Public Administration, Education or related field – OR – Associate Degree with major coursework in Human Services, Public Administration, Education or related field and two (2) years of direct human services or workforce development planning and development experience. (Other Evidences May Be Substituted)

Part-time Employees (Non-Benefits Eligible) (20 hours or less per week): Benefits include Long Term Sick Leave Accrual, Paid Personal Leave, and holiday pay for hours scheduled to work on holidays.

Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active
pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation.

Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
