Job description
Provides oversight and management of the youth track clinics. Plans and executes age appropriate running activities with an emphasis on fun and fitness, focusing on participation and self-improvement.
Works in partnership with volunteer instructors / coaches.
Leads and demonstrate all aspects of the clinic such as; warm-up, dynamic stretching, running activity and games; cool down, and static stretching.
Takes attendance at each class. Keeps updated roster on hand.
Administers first aid as needed. Follows Town emergency procedures when necessary. Completes accident report and notify recreation supervisor.
Ensures that all equipment is set-up and removed before and after each session.
Develops and enforces good sportsmanship among participants.
Program runs: Twice per week (Monday & Wednesdays) for a total of 10 sessions over a 5 week period.
Season: 5 weeks, approximately 4 hours per week
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the sport of track & field required.
21 years of age or older with previous experience working with youth preferred.
Must have or be willing to update/obtain CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. Parks and Recreation Department can provide training for applicants that requite certification or renewal.
Required to pass a background check.
