DESCRIPTION

XR Solutions Architect (Systems Architect Stf)As a XR Solutions Architect (Systems Architect Stf), you’ll be working alongside a diverse team of technology leads, software engineers, content developers, and other stakeholders to deliver advanced visualization tools and services to internal teams as well as both domestic and international customers. Job Duties will include:

• Designing and supporting customer demonstrations and proof-of-concept / pilot deployments, working with multiple technical and product teams to architect solutions that meet project requirements
• Supporting initial tool deployments to new customers to include coordination, change management, process integration, and technical setup
• Acting as a liaison and point of escalation between the MFC Emergent Visualization team, Digital Transformation, and the Advanced Visualization Coalition partner teams, and will be involved with designing, building, testing, and supporting XR (e.g. AR/VR/MR) solutions end-to-end.
• Coordinating between business and IT stakeholders to develop a solution architecture approach
• Creating delivery estimates based on solution architecture approach
• Assessing market technology choices to determine fit, including software, hardware, SaaS/PaaS, etc.
• Coordinating with delivery project managers and business analysts to draft project scope and compile delivery estimates
• Collaborating with other architecture teams
• Adapting to a quickly changing environment and interacting with a broad customer base with diverse needs and functional responsibilities. This position will require the qualified applicant to articulate technical requirements to non-technical customers and ensure their understanding of capabilities being developed and released to both internal and external users. The position will require operational processes, procedures, and technical documentation to be developed that will ensure consistent, repeatable, and scalable support aimed to provide software enhancements required by both internal and external system stakeholders. This position will require technical hardware support and enterprise integration design support for existing and newly acquired platforms. This position interacts with personnel on complex technical matters often requiring coordination, collaboration, and decisive actions to assure project success with minimum risk. Position develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity while keeping team leads and management informed with status reports, metrics, and key milestones.

MANDATORY

· Bachelor’s degree from in an accredited university in Computer Science or related technical discipline

· Ability to obtain Secret clearance

· Experience in solution architecting that leverage buy or build options, as well as cloud solutions

· Experience interfacing with stakeholders and customers to understand their processes, map tools to their requirements, and/or design new capability

· Excellent knowledge on XR (e.g. AR/VR/MR) architectures and related UX Design

· Good understanding of different AR/VR platforms (e.g. HoloLens, Vive, Oculus), tools (e.g. D365 Guides, Vuforia, ScopeAR, PiXYZ, MRTK, AR Foundation / Core / Kit) & technologies (e.g. AI, Object Recognition / Alignment, Remote Rendering, 5G, Cloud / Edge-compute) and standards

· Excellent general knowledge on 3D engines, rendering pipeline, geometry, data type, materials & shaders, tools (e.g. Maya, 3Ds Max, Blender)

· Experience in software design, mobile and/or XR systems architecture design, problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting

· Experience developing for game engines or other simulation environments (e.g. Unreal, Unity3d)

· Good understanding of app security related concepts and implementations in AR/VR/MR apps

· Familiar with 3D Model and CAD file internal data structures (e.g. FBX, GLTF, OBJ, STP)

· Experience in Agile development methodology including SCRUM framework * Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)

DESIRED

· Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline

· Hands-on experience on RESTFul Web Services technical design and other API communication, etc.

· Hands on experience in Cloud computing (Azure/AWS/GCP)

· Understanding of computational geometry and geometrical modeling

· Excellent knowledge in building Apps for XR (e.g. HoloLens, Vive) and Mobile devices (e.g. Android/iOS)

· Good Understanding of Deployment Pipelines, DevOps and related tools / methods

· Expertise in design review, code reviews and integration of software components in large systems

· Good knowledge on automation and Testing strategies in AR/VR/MR apps

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour
