Account Solutions Universal Specialist

TwinStar Credit Union is seeking an Account Solutions Universal Specialist to join our team! The Account Solutions Universal Specialist acts in the best interest of TwinStar Credit Union by working with troubled borrowers to identify any available debt restructure options to prevent or resolve delinquent accounts. This position supports department specialists with duties, projects and/or back up as needed.

Location: This position is remote in following States only: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, Maine and Washington State


Hours:
Must be available to work Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, and Saturday's 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM Pacific Standard Time.

Status: Full-Time, Non-exempt

Salary: $22.54-$28.18/hr Depending on qualifications and experience

Requirements:

Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Communicate with borrowers that have been identified as troubled and/or high risk to determine, negotiate and recommend the best workout or collection option available.
  • Document all action taken, including telephone conversations, alternative financial arrangements and correspondence; follow up with borrower when additional documentation is needed.
  • Educate borrowers on credit and its relation to their financial needs.
  • Coordinate and/or perform analysis of troubled borrowers and at-risk loans.
  • Review, maintain and resolve accounts as presented and take action to mitigate the Credit Union’s exposure to risk in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review and execute necessary documents for collection actions, workout loans, and debt restructures, including titles, liens, agreements, promissory notes, etc.
  • Review credit and debt restructure requests from borrowers; make decisions or recommendations on requests using sound underwriting principles within established Credit Union policies and guidelines, and within stated authority level.
  • Actively engage with people in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Communicate with internal, external and potential members in a friendly, professional manner in person, over the phone and via e-mail.
  • Support Management and member decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.
  • Represent the credit union with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations, credit union policies and procedures and other compliance obligations.
  • Maintain a strong and current understanding of laws, regulations, credit union policies and procedures regarding collection activities.
  • Support for Recovery Specialist, Legal Specialist, Loss Mitigation Specialist, and Account Solutions Representative duties
  • Perform MIP (Member Identification Program) process as outlined in the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act procedure. Ensures the security and confidentiality of private member information. Refers to procedure 9009 for current guidelines.
  • Generate reports as needed.
  • Work diligently to meet or exceed goals established by management.
  • Reports regularly to work and returns from breaks and meal periods on time according to the posted schedule.

Education and Experience Required:

Education

  • High school graduate or GED

Experience

  • 1+ years financial counseling

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • 4+ years related experience
  • Certified Financial Counselor

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A/B.S)
