Position Summary
This position is open to location at Portland-Metro or Klamath Falls with hybrid and/or remote work opportunities. Business and financial policies are administered through the Business Affairs Office with the approval of the Vice President for Finance and Administration. This position will provide dedicated capital project and asset accounting support to Facilities and Maintenance and the university as a whole at a central level.
This position has frequent contact with campus leadership, faculty, staff, vendors and others served by the University and has a thorough understanding of University policies, procedures and operations. This position exercises initiative, professional judgment and ownership of work while exercising strong communication skills and a high level of customer service.
Department Summary
The Office of Business Affairs at Oregon Institution of Technology, an institution of higher education serving over 4,000 students is responsible for administering business and financial policies with the approval of the Vice President for Finance and Administration. The role of the Office includes supporting Oregon Tech compliance with federal and state regulations and policies, and providing a variety of services to students, faculty, staff, campus departments and vendors. Primary functions of the Office are accounting and financial reporting; accounts payable, accounts receivable, cashier services, grants and contracts administration, debt management, property control, federal, state and local tax compliance, and travel.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; OR Bachelor’s degree with 30 quarter (20 semester) hours of college-level Accounting, OR 30 quarter (20 semester) hours of Accounting courses and three years of Accounting experience.
Accounting experience must include at least 6 of the following:
- Documenting and resolving problems within an accounting system;
- Classifying revenues and expenditures to funds and accounts;
- Ensuring accounting system conforms with applicable controls;
- Reconciling accounts to general or control ledgers;
- Preparing journal vouchers;
- Applying accounting principles to one or more functional areas; i.e., AR, AP, etc.;
- Tracing errors through accounting system;
- Processing data using a computer;
- Communicating technical material orally and in writing;
- Applying computer report information;
- Knowledge of governmental and fund accounting;
- Applying PC spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $4,107.00 - $4,507.00 per month
