6BT - Acute & Intermediate Med Surg @ Holly Springs
Shift/Hours: Day shift - 7:00 am - 7:00 pm. Night shift - 7:00 pm - 7:00 am.
Holiday/Weekend Requirement: Weekends: Every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday. Holidays: Assigned to a holiday track.
On Call Requirement: No required on-call at this time.
Responsibilities: Care for patients before and after any medical surgical procedure. In addition to prepping patients for procedures and answering any questions they might have, a med surg nurse must also consider how the patient’s underlying health issues will affect their recovery from any medical surgical procedure. Assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records, and provide patients with support and education.

The Med Surg unit is a 24-bed unit that consists of 18 medical surgical, acute care beds and 6 Intermediate Care beds. Our team provides care to a large variety of types. Must Haves: License: NC RN License. Certification: ACLS. Experience: 1 year of acute care experience. Education: Associates accepted, must agree to enroll in BSN program within 4 years of being hired, must complete BSN within 7 years.
Preferred: Med Surg experience preferred.
About the Unit: Number of beds: 24. Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4-5. Patient population: medical, cardiac, orthpedic, general and GYN surgery. Other clincians on staff: nurse aids. Are there any opportunities for growth: clinical ladder, CNII-CNIV. What type of personality works well in this department: team player, positive attitude and flexible. Who will you report to: Manager.
Orientation: First week will be a general orientation to the Rex system with both virtual and in person classes, Monday-Friday. Experienced nurses will then receive 7-8 weeks of training on the unit with a preceptor on their hired schedule.

Pay: $29.25 - $49.14 per hour
