The Specialist operates work-from-home, in the corporate office or travels locally to the assigned client locations providing employee benefit education and administrative services to the clients Human Resources Department and employees. Responsibilities include benefit reviews and enrollments, employee interactive support, and various client-specific administrative and project-related duties.
50% of the time will be traveling onsite to local National Beef plants/corporate offices in Kansas City, KS, St. Joseph, MO, and Kansas City, MO to enroll new hires into employer-sponsored benefits and provide benefit support and answer benefit-related questions. The other 50% will work from home, or the corporate office as needed, assisting with more administrative functions like auditing, special projects, and client support.
On occasion (maybe 4 times per year), late hours will be needed (9pm -1am or so) to accommodate the new hires on 3rd shift at National Beef Leathers in St. Joe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Contacts newly hired and existing employees to schedule one-on-one benefit review sessions. Conducts benefit reviews in person or telephonically as needed, based on accessibility and changing environment, follows compliance practices regarding recorded review best practices for all telephonic benefit reviews.
  • Analyzes census data and creates a customized reach-out strategy in order to effectively connect with each employee.
  • Accepts inbound service calls to follow-up, educate, and address employee questions as needed. Enters employee and enrollment information into appropriate systems at the time of enrollment.

  • Develops a detailed understanding and in-depth working knowledge of all employer-sponsored benefit plans; responds to employee and carrier inquiries in a timely manner; investigates and resolves benefit-related concerns, including enrollment, deduction, billing, and medical claims issues; support benefit email inbox and contact center, as assigned.
  • Acts as a liaison between the client's HR department, client’s employees, and various benefit carriers.
  • Completes various administrative duties, as assigned by BCInsourcing; based on client needs, duties to include administration support of qualifying life events, status changes, billing, new hire orientation, appointment scheduling, benefit enrollments and applications, and internal BCInsourcing audit preparation and research and resolution.
  • Meets regular local (mileage reimbursed) travel requirements.
  • Hours may fluctuate during open enrollment periods and special projects in order to meet the needs of the client, including extended work hours, evenings, or weekends.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent
  • Must obtain and maintain Life and Health Producer’s License and be eligible for appointment to appropriate insurance carriers within timeframes established by BCInsourcing (if not pre-licensed, this will take place during training)
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license to travel to client sites per BCInsourcing policy
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Professional experience demonstrating self-motivation and result-driven outcomes operating under intermittent supervision
  • Demonstrate articulate interpersonal communication skills in a service environment
  • Proven experience following a step-by-step process while using deductive reasoning to produce positive results
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Strong knowledge of benefit insurance products, including core and/or voluntary benefit insurance products
  • Operating knowledge of cloud-based benefits platform: Bswift
  • Bilingual in English and Burmese, is a plus but not required
