Serves as front line of customer service within the Admission Office and via local travel, coordinates record and application handling, provides support for office programs and projects, and participates in admission application coordination and review.

Responsibilities:
Customer Service:

  • Provide customer service for prospective students, families, school counselors, and other constituents.
  • Support hospitality efforts for Admission Office visitors, including serving as front desk receptionist, promoting a welcoming atmosphere, providing information about Colorado College.
  • Interact with constituents through email and phone including analyzing, revising and editing responses and visit related messaging.
  • Coordinate campus visit scheduling.

Office of Admission:

  • Read electronic applications during the selection cycle including analyzing academic performance data, assessing writing preparedness, recording pertinent information, and calculating ratings according to rubrics.
  • Assess academic preparedness through the review of secondary, midyear, and final transcripts.
  • Occasionally conduct local area recruitment activities such as college fairs and high school visits.
  • Serve on one or more admission program/project teams.
  • Coordinate data sharing and transfer of incoming student data with other campus offices including but not limited to the Financial Aid Office, Registrars Office, Campus Activities, Deans Office, Advancement, Athletics, Summer Session and Global Education.
  • Support recruitment staff by serving as initial contact for specific programs/projects.
  • Train and supervise the work of student employees on phone and desk shifts.

Record Management:

  • Perform data entry, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Use customer relationship management software to edit, analyze, and query data and records.
  • Import, export, and manipulate data (in Excel and other software).
  • Coordinate the collection and conversion of paper documents to digital images and route those images to appropriate digital application files.
  • Coordinate the accurate collection/processing of application documentation including data entry, electronic storage, exports/imports, and transfer of documents between web applications.

situations and accidents; following college procedures; and participating in appropriate safety training.
o Demonstrate environmental sustainability by using college resources wisely and supporting the colleges sustainability
initiatives and innovation.
o Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Some college/Associates degree plus related experience in a customer service environment or in higher education administration; proficient in word processing, reports, spreadsheets, e-mail, and computer software and database concepts; proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and intermediate business math applications; proficient in using multiple windows, file folders, and electronic organization; demonstrated competency in using web applications such as OneDrive and customer service databases; excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds; good judgment and organizational skills; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to multitask and work productively with frequent interruptions; ability to operate standard office equipment. Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record that is insurable by Colorado Colleges motor vehicle insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree, experience in offices of admission, financial aid or similar higher education administration; customer service management experience; intermediate-level experience with Technolutions Slate, Microsoft Excel, HTML basic, Adobe Acrobat, and customer relationship management software.
